Title
Eureka Reef school, Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park
Description

The remains of this building are associated with the Eureka Mine at Eureka Reef that operated in the 1860s. It began life as a mine manager’s house but later became a schoolhouse. Photographs of the schoolhouse from 1914 depict largely the same scene - this demonstrates how quickly buildings can become ‘ruins’.
