CHANCE FOR BACHELORS. – By the following advertisement in yesterday’s Argus, it would appear that a nice “pocket” of blooming spinsters are anxious for a new “rush” of bachelors to Anderson’s Creek. Whata pity the rhyming damsels did not get Mrs Chisholm to chaperone them hither:-
WANTED, HUSBANDS FOR FIVE
Five young gentlemen can, if they seek,
Find five young ladies at Anderson’s Creek,
All in the bloom and pride of their lives,
All very anxious to be happy wives,
Whoever will make them so, please address.
